Ecommerce Conglomerate Improves Fulfillment Center Safety with Traffic Logix Speed Tables
Largest ecommerce company in the world uses Traffic Logix speed tables to keep traffic moving safely at their distribution centers.
The Client
A popular ecommerce giant stores, ships, and delivers millions of products every day. In North Texas, they recently built a substantial new fulfillment center spanning a million square feet. They also have several other distribution centers located throughout Northern Texas.
The Challenge
Extensive warehousing and distribution centers include extensive parking lots. They also employ a vast workforce. And that translates to throngs of people driving to work throughout different shifts, in addition to truck traffic at the facilities. The renowned company was concerned for the safety of employees and pedestrians as they navigate the parking lots at the airport facility and other local distribution centers.
The Solution
The popular ecommerce conglomerate chose Traffic Logix recycled rubber speed tables and speed humps to slow cars in their lots. The rubber traffic calming devices are made of preconstructed units, which are interlocked to create any size or shape configuration. The ability to customize the devices to any shape or size was particularly important to the company, as they wanted traffic control devices that they could design to their own specs.
Traffic Logix rubber speed tables and humps are:
- Made from 100% recycled rubber rescued from landfills
- Easier on cars, making for a smoother ride than their asphalt counterparts.
- Molded with bright reflective tape in a choice of white or yellow tape or striping.
- Highly visible even from a distance
- Fade resistant unlike asphalt
- Durable and long-lasting
- Removable for road resurfacing
Rubber speed humps are rounded on top, slowing cars to 10-20 mph. Speed tables extend over more surface area and have flat, instead of round tops. They slow cars to 20-25 mph and are a great tool to keep traffic moving at safe speeds, rather than slowing cars unnecessarily.
The Benefits
Drivers are now observing posted speed limits, slowing down to drive over the speed humps and tables. The parking lots at the fulfillment and distribution centers are now safer and easier to navigate with the use of the Traffic Logix traffic calming devices.
Jamie Shank, a local installer on the project, noted that “the installation is great. The devices are super simple to connect and bolt down. But the quality is really the biggest seller on these. The company knows that Traffic Logix products don’t tear up or crumble, the colors don’t fade the way other companies’ do. They can get these from many companies but they know that with Traffic Logix, they can customize the products just the way they want them and they look good and really last.”
